Some months I was skipping & swiping from Nordstroms, to Sephora, to Zara, and then other months I was really crossing my fingers for a miracle by 11:59 on the 1st, before my rent payment would go through.
The feast and famine cycle isn’t new to most entrepreneurs, and typically we all crave that point where we have consistent income in our businesses, to the tune of five figures a month, and six figures a year.
But what scales a five-figure earner to six-figure status? Recently, I had the chance to talk to more than 20 business coaches earning six to (count it) eight figures a year about how to grow a health, fitness, or wellness business from five to six figures, and I noticed three main themes come up in all of their answers.
Ready to make the leap?
Here are the three themes you need to rock to grow a six-figure business:
- Leads. Time for a brutally honest question: how many offers are you making a week? 25? 10? Five? ZERO? If you’re not asking for sales, you’re either not making money at all, or leaving a ton of it on the table. While the sales conversation can be scary, mastering it is a must. In addition to getting potential clients on the phone, you can use tools like speaking (online or offline), books, and cross-promotional marketing for lead generation and funnel into a nurture strategy.
- Service. How are you taking care of the clients you already have? Are you serving like a million dollar coach? Do you have a multi-tier way to work with clients? Almost all six-figure earnings have at least two ways to work with clients, so once you’ve mastered your primary offering, it’s time to add a second service option.
- Growth. One of the best things about breaking corporate life is ditching seemingly useless systems and processes, but they’re used for a reason. Optimizing systems and processes gets a lot of credit for business efficiencies. Also, as solopreneurs we often think that going it alone is best, but to grow it’s imperative to have the right community support system in your corner, whether that’s a mastermind or working one-on-one with a coach.
